Roasting Coffee Beans......
I bought , a couple months back, 6 different types of coffee beans( 5 pound bags) for sort of a addition to my preps. Of course, got the horse before the cart, to say. At least I know which ones I like. But can sure tell the differance between when it was fresh and now. SO........green coffee beans are the way to go for long term preps and am planning on making large purchase in couple weeks. Have been looking at different types of roast and methods. Think I will try the camp fire roasting meathod first, would be the most practical SHTF method. YES, I like my 2 cups of coffee a day, not many vices, but this is one. Figured would post a few of the vids I was watching.
I bought beans at below link, no problems what so ever. ( was given link here at gim, do not recollect by who) http://www.coffeebeandirect.com/index.php?cPath=63_67 |

Re: Roasting Coffee Beans......
If I recall correctly, this was common practice throughout the the 1800s even though the roast often wasn't great. The beans are at their best about 12 hours after roasting, enough time to let the CO2 escape.

popcorn air-popper works perfectly.
not much per batch, but convenient and cheap. CBD 6 bean espresso blend is really good, as is the costa rican terrazu |

Cast Iron Skillet Coffee is one of the oldest trades known to man. SHTF won't change that. Coffee is money. |
